Woodward Dream Cruise and MotorCities National Heritage Area Present Official Dream Cruise Map

ROYAL OAK, MI — (August 15, 2011) For the second year, MotorCities National Heritage Area and the Woodward Dream Cruise presented by Chevrolet (WDC) have partnered to present the official Woodward Dream Cruise map as residents and visitors from across the globe are revving their engines to take part in the 17th annual Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday, August 20.

“The official map is one of the best ways to get information about each participating community out to those who attend the event,” stated Greg Rassel, president of the WDC. “We are thrilled to once again be partnering with MotorCities National Heritage Area. MotorCities has not only been a great supporter of the Woodward Dream Cruise, but the automotive region as a whole.”

There are family-friendly activities spanning the entire length of the cruise from Ferndale to Pontiac. The map serves as a guide to the route as well as events and attractions in the various participating cities along the way. Whether you’re a cruiser in need of a pit stop or one of the one million spectators looking for live entertainment or a bite to eat, the map is your guide.

“MotorCities feels that the Woodward Dream Cruise represents our region’s passion for car culture,” said Nancy Darga, managing director, MotorCities National Heritage Area. “We are proud to work with them in preserving and promoting our auto heritage while also generating economic vitality in our region.”

MotorCities programs are dedicated to increasing tourism throughout the State of Michigan; developing and deploying educational and informational programs that tell the story of the American automobile industry and labor in our region; and encouraging revitalization through conservation.

Official cruise maps are now available and can be found where official Woodward Dream Cruise merchandise is sold, as well as venues in the Woodward Corridor.  Visit MotorCities on cruise day at one of their locations; Memorial Park in Royal Oak or in the Anna’s Uniform parking lot just north of Nine Mile in Ferndale.
